Dores Guild met, and Got o Sunday School Day will be observed November 4 with maximum attendance urged for all schools statewide.
Ex Commodore Charles W. Clifford Jr of the Kennebec Yacht Club returns from Portsmouth N H with his new cabin cruiser Topaz Will after a two week cruise. Accompanied by Fred W. Humphreys and Henry Loring, the 54 foot vessel has a 109 horsepower Loew Victor engine and was designed by W J Deed. Clifford plans to bring her to Bath for winter quarters with William Burrell as engineer and Bert Kingsbury as steward.
Morse High of Bath defeated Edward Little of Lewiston in a tight contest at the A A A Park. Morse drove inside the ten yard line late, a penalty on Edward Little and a malfunctioning timeout led to a late touchdown as officials ordered a clean game.
Since August 410 pounds of wool have been disposed of at the Y M A rooms and 100 more pounds are ordered. Red Cross rooms operate daily except Saturday and Bath women are urged to knit for Fort Baldwin soldiers. A weekly volunteer roster lists M iss Carolyn Moses J T Snipe Harry Morin and others across Monday to Friday sessions.

Thomas Nichols and Ralph Pratt set out from Bath on bikes for a 59.2 mile round trip to Round Pond and back, a rare endurance ride for Maine youths in the era of increasing automobile use. They expect to reach Round Pond before Sunday and return to Bath by nightfall, hoping to earn a spot in local fame.

Former Maine Central ticket seller and second trick operator now serving in the United States Army has earned rapid promotion. Stationed at Burlington Vermont he has been summoned to Washington where a Captain’s commission awaits him. A Hallowe en party is set for Oct 20 at the homes of Mrs Worrey and Mrs Coombs with adults from the congregation expected to attend. Scott Frye reports 200 to 250 bushels of potatoes dug at the Old Folks Home with few bad tubers. Mrs Bertha Avery from Georgetown visits her sister Mrs H M Douglas at 55 Dummer Street.
Richard L Crocker and Laura Hutchins of Lewiston were married Monday night at Central Congregational parsonage by Hoy David L Wilson. Guests Warren Mumsey attended. Newlyweds honeymoon at 1244 High Street.
William and Martha Pinkham formerly of this city faced arraignment in Augusta Municipal Court on kidnapping charges. Ada Hunt reported finding three of the four children in a shack near Togus and later placed them with Mrs. Edward Gunning in Sidney before the parents allegedly abducted them again to Sidney. Randolph police tracked the family to a hovel. Also noted is naval architect William H Hand Jr resigning from the United States Shipping Board emergency fleet corporation after completing duties in New Bedford Massachusetts. He cited personal reasons and offered no further comment. Red Cross urged widespread support.
