Morse High School manual training class led by David K. Alkazin plans to recondition donated toys for Bath children via the Red Cross. Bath residents are urged to hand unwanted toys to Oakhurst Dairy drivers for delivery to the school.

The Yale launched in 1906 along with the Harvard and Berkshire was built in Chester Pennsylvania. The Yale traveled about three million miles mostly on the Pacific coastwise run maintaining 19 knots. Capt Frank Johnson to be reassigned. Yale owned by Matson but advertised as Lassco liner. The Harvard crashed near Pt Arguello in 1931.
Edwina Connolly daughter of Beverly couple wed Dr Thomas G Devlin of Stoneham at St Margaret s Beverly Mass Rev Timothy C Maney presided marking 21st anniversary of the Connollys marriage. Best man was Eugene Devlin and ten bridesmaids attended. Guests included Judge Murray Hurlburt New York friend of Maney. Reception at Beverly Farms home.
In Bowdoinham Mer ry meeting grange hall crowds enjoyed Lambo s Stolen Diamonds a musical comedy written and directed by Robert W Oliver of Bath who also starred as Sambo. The cast included Mrs Oliver John M Howe Priscilla E Colby Mrs Reginald Barter Bobby and Louise Carver with Francis B McPherson at the piano for numbers and the post show dance.
Mrs Pred Cary hosted Les Camarades Musicaux in East Brunswick on Wednesday evening. Francis S. McPherson read a paper on Famous Publishers of Music while members enjoyed performances by Mrs Hatch Mrs Sturtevant and others. The club accepted George Field's resignation and elected new state committee appointees including Mrs Hatch and Mr Ramsay.
Hon William R Pattangall of Augusta Miss Nettie C Burleigh of Vassalboro and Admiral William Veazie Pratt retired will address the Republican rally in Farmington at Drummond hall on Broadway Saturday Oct 26 at 145 after a luncheon at 1230 Luncheon and afternoon sessions are open to the public both men and women invited The meeting is sponsored by the Women's Republican Club of Maine which holds an 11 oclock business meeting.
Sacred Heart circle of Daughters of Isabella will install officers Sunday at eight in Red Men's hall with Miss Mary A. Barron of Portland state regent and national officer presiding. Mrs. Frank E. Moses chairs the installation committee and a rehearsal is planned for Friday at KC hall with retiring officers asked to attend at 7.30 and officers elect at eight. Trustees meet at Hotel Phoenix tonight at 7.30.
Attorney General Chapman labels the Thursday night draw as a gambling scheme. The Maine Law Court reviewed agreed facts with State and defense attorneys and submitted them to Justice Murray. Miss Jane S Murphy of High Street spent the weekend with friends at Small Point.
Seventeen present at the Bath Memorial Hospital Nurses Alumni semi annual meeting held Thursday at the hospital. Miss Margaret R. Yates presided. An executive committee and a flower committee were appointed. A card party and entertainment plans for January were discussed with several named members listed among attendees. New and older members were noted including several officers and committee chairs.
The Woolwich Union for Christian Service study group met Thursday afternoon at Day's Ferry with Miss Lois Day. Books reviewed included Hounds of Spring and The Cross of Peace. The discussion centered on the Peace Plebesite led by Rev. Walter Swank with several members contributing views. The next meeting is set for Sagadahoc Ferry on November 21 to discuss Modern Drama and Poetry.
Indications point to 1936 as a year of great political activity with prospective candidates ready to influence voters to change party enrollment. The enrollment deadline for municipal caucuses passed, with Dec 15 the last day to switch for the primaries, six months before nominations. Voting dates: Municipal March 2, Primary June 15, State Sept 14, National Nov 3.

Lewiston telephone operators sponsored a semi formal dancing party at the K of C hall Thursday evening under the service committee to raise funds for entertaining the city’s poor children at Christmas. The event featured Circle and novelty dances with many attendees from the Portland exchange and several private parties preceding the dance.
Bowdoin College invites the public to a program by Edward Abner Thompson a dramatic platform artist at Memorial Hall on October 21 at 8 15 p m Thompson a Bowdoin graduate of 1891 and 1928 honorary Master of Arts recipient is blind and will speak about his work alongside college hosts and guests.
Two hunters encountered a bear in the woods near Norway. In a rush to reach a high tree one hunter tripped, his gun discharged, and a shower of birdshot hit the bear. The animal fled, ending the chase without harm to people.

McFadden, Mrs. Arthur W. King, Mrs. Daisy Murphy, Mrs. Robert P. Manson, and Mrs. Florence Morse. 60 Lewiston Teachers Association members attended the annual banquet at Devin Hotel with Carl Van Stack speaking on South Africa.
Edward O. Brown of China faced Augusta Municipal Court Thursday on charges of killing a raccoon. Game Warden Winfield Foster testified the animal had been destroying corn, and Judge Frank E. Southard acquitted Brown after learning the raccoon was damaging crops.
