Arrival of the Aryan to Boston from Seattle
The full rigged ship Aryan, 136 days out, travels to Boston as the first Stars and Stripes vessel. She carries 543 spars, 160000 feet of timber, 242000 feet of lumber, 18000 feet of clear cedar, and 500000 shingles worth about 50000 dollars. Built in 1893 in Phippaburg by Co V Minott, she is the last wooden ship built locally. Also notice a Leslie's feature on Leah Winslow of Crescent Theatre Brooklyn.
