City Council Faces Highway and Sewer Board Budget Strain
Debate centers on last year’s leftover funds and a July storm that increased costs for the Highway and Sewer Board. Former Mayor Frank Small cites state law and public opinion demanding more road expenditures while noting limited funds. Treasurer Hall reports 90 percent tax collection and a $1,000 freight bill dispute with the MCC.R.R. The council plans to decide on financial aid at the next December session to resolve cash needs.
