The Ladies' Missionary society of the First Baptist church held their annual mite box opening at the parsonage home of Mrs. H. L. Skillin. Twenty members enjoyed songs readings and solos by Mrs. Skillin Mrs. Wakefield and Miss Marion Skillin. A Life of David Livingstone sketch by Mrs. Stuart preceded the mite box opening which raised over $16 plus a silver offering.

Bridge traffic soars as Bath Woolwich opens
More than 2,000 cars crossed the Bath to Woolwich bridge on its opening weekend along with vast pedestrian traffic. Two toll sellers managed peak flow while a line of cars stretched from the toll house to the draw span. The three million dollar structure drew riders and walkers from distant points, rivalling ferry counts.

Watson Frye lot sold for model garage site
The Lewiston Buick Motor Co has bought the Watson-Frye lot in Bath bounded by Broad Commercial and Arch streets. Construction will start in December on an up to date concrete garage spanning from the west line to Commercial street with parking on the remainder. Estimated cost near $20,000 and the entrance will face Commercial street with a premier showroom and service station. Completion is planned as soon as possible for spring business.

Bath Iron Works Lands A Contract To Build Palatial Yacht
William Newell, president of Bath Iron Works Corp, closes negotiations for a 240 foot steel yacht to be built at the Bath plant with delivery by July 14.
