United States Apple Crop Shows Decrease Across Year
The 1933 apple crop in the United States is estimated at 26,279,000 barrels for commercial production, down from 27,571,000 barrels a month prior and far below last year’s 28,646,000 barrels. Total crop is about 144 million bushels, two percent larger than 1932, but insect and fungus damage, plus limited spraying due to financing, increased culls.
