Calvin E Cromwell 75 lifelong ship carpenter died after a weeklong illness at Ste Marie s General Hospital Lewiston. Funeral set for Saturday 2 PM at Curtis funeral home Bath where he lived for over 50 years. He born in Georgetown son of Moses and Rachel Cromwell worked at Deering shipyard and later on bridge work for F W Carlton. Survived by sons Willard F Bath Walter B Lewiston, daughter Esther Maines Bath and another son Herbert I Cromwell Lebanon NJ.
In assembly Friday morning President William Bruce of the junior class challenged the seniors to a future auditorium debate. Senior class president Edmund Rollins accepted. Debating club sponsors the event. Legio Nova Romana presented four colored pictures to the Latin room from February card party proceeds. Tickets for the senior dance on Wednesday evening November 27 are on sale. Percy Homer of Eastern Drug Co. Franklin visited Bath Friday.
New Maine license plates numbered up to 200000 with maroon background and white figures were received from a St. Louis manufacturer. The low bid winning contract was placed a year early. A two ton truck made 27 trips to Bangor Auburn and Portland to deliver plates. The 1930 supply cost under nine cents per pair. Maine plates must display the registration number in four inch figures and the state name in one inch letters.

The North-Center P.T.A. rival Hustlers and Rustlers squads of 19 on a side will dine at Freeman's Friday night. Members must inform their team captains by Thursday noon. Nearly 100 percent attendance is expected.
The funeral of Robert L. Brackley was held Saturday afternoon at 3 30 at Curtis Funeral Home 165 Center Street. Rev. Howard P. Jett of the Nazarene Church officiated. Bearers were Fred L. Brackley Harry Sullivan Charles Mason Lemont and Melvin Savage. Burial was in Oak Grove.
The new trapping law restricts muskrat trapping and requires written landowner consent within one mile of cultivated land. Beavers may be trapped in designated areas with a $10 license, without landowner consent, and each beaver skin must be stamped. Traps must be checked every 24 hours except water sets for mink and muskrat.
