Old Brick Schoolhouse Landmark In Phippsburg Center

The old brick building at Phippsburg Center near Henry Heald’s home, once a school and later a stable, is believed over a century old. It features the original floor and marks of old benches, recalls boyhood antics, and a history of strict discipline and singing schools.

Remarkable cat displays escape artistry during house work

A clever Pitisebare Tumus cat, age four, can perform exhibition feats without training. The animal uses a window five plus feet above the ground and a ladder to move between the second story and outside. It climbs the ladder, then jumps to a window ledge and descends the ladder by circling down.
