From the start of the year to October 23 Maine state records show auto registration fees totaling 1406 032 72, up from 1 000 064 50 in the same period last year, an increase of 405 008 22. Thebureau of the Department of State released a comparison of business for 1921 and 1922.
Arrangements were made Monday by ALDLaine state fuel director for three barges of quitracite coal to be consigned to Maine dealers. The cargo was graded at Bovton with Lehigh Coal Sales Co. and the consignors named as Stone & Diner and Consumers' Fuel Co. at Belfast.

Fred E. Hooper manager of Ferguson Hotel Shenandoah Pa stole a march on friends by going to New York on Oct 21 and marrying Miss Anna Grant of Portland Maine on Oct 22 in an intimate ceremony. The couple returned to Shenandoah to an impromptu reception at the hotel. Hooper, Bath, Maine, native and former cadet captain, is connected to Read Nichols Co. and known for years in New York hotel circles.
Miss Marcia Sewall Humphrey daughter of Mr and Mrs George Gleason Sniyphey Englewood New Jersey married Clarence Wescott Gallup son of Mrs Clarence Wescott Gallup North Adams Massachusetts at the Church of the New Jerusalem in New York. The groom’s party included best man Gibson Paine and ushers James Randolph Whittiam Richmond and others. The couple then traveled to Bath and Small Point Maine to stay with the Sumner family at the Rewall home before resuming their trip.
George M. Emery and Annie Louise Moore married Saturday night at the People's church parsonage on Academy Street. Emery, son of George W. Emery of Fall River, Mass., works as a truck driver for Hyde Windlass Co. New Method Laundry employed bride, daughter of Preschert F. Ferris, and the couple will reside in Bath.
Mr and Mrs Sewall Webster were among Bath people who witnessed the Diendein bates game in Lewinton Saturday afternoon.
Charles Savary, 15, says he was abused by George L. Oliver at Whippsburg Center Maine after being placed there by the Home for Friendless Boys in Portland. He fled two weeks ago to find his mother but remains in Lynn awaiting help while authorities seek his kin and mend his future prospects.
Howard T. Corliss 15 the son of Charles A. and Clara KF. Corliss died early Tuesday after a brief illness believed to be infection. He was a high school student described as brilliant. His condition worsened from Monday afternoon when he lapsed into unconsciousness.
Tickets are moving quickly to Cosmopolitan members for Dr. Donald Js. MacMillan Arctic lecture at the Columbia on Friday night. He will describe his 5400 mile 14 month cruise visiting Baffin Land, with moving pictures from the trip, highlighting his seventh Far North voyage.
The funeral of Edward M. Spinney, a veteran caulker, who died Sunday from heart trouble, was held Tuesday at 2 PM at his niece Mrs James Jordan’s home on Western Avenue. Rev Louis W Weer officiated. pallbearers included George A Spinney John H Stilphen Ernest Smith and Clifton Spinney. Burial was in Oak Grove.
