A Bath fire department Combination 4 truck blew a tire on Thursday disabling the vehicle at Hose 1 Marshall Street. It was sent to Portland for a replacement tire and temporarily assigned to Water Street. The old hose reel was returned to Marshall Street during the absence and the Marshall Street wagon resumed service after the tire was replaced Friday.

The Postoffice department ends contract with Five Islands Steamboat Co for Bath to MacMahon Island and Five Islands from June 1 to September 30. New route 4065 will run six trips weekly except Sundays, with morning Bath departure after Boston train and 10 30 a.m. latest, stopping at MacMahan and Five Islands within two hours, return Five Islands at 8 30 p.m. and arrive Bath by 5 30 p.m. MacMahan gets the sole service, Five Islands gains an addition to Popham Beach via Star Route 1838. Last season MacMahan was served by Star Route 1338 Woolwith to Robinhood. Service between Robin Hood and MytMahan (Route W6 LOLO) is discontinued.
