Winchester Yacht Sets Speed Record At Bath Iron Works Trial
The Winchester steam yacht completed its first builders trial at Bath Iron Works and posted an average of 31.55 knots over five runs with a top speed of 32.3 knots. Captain H F Barrett led the test with a crew, engineers, designers, and guests aboard. The vessel met contract speed of 29 knots and is to be delivered late this month with praise for its sea stability and lack of vibration.
