Popham Beach Library Expands Toward Milestone

The Popham Beach library has gained about 20 percent more books since last summer and nears a thousand volumes. Mrs. John H. Stacy of Popham visited Thursday, while Catherine Leydon was elected for the spring term at the Popham school. John H. Stacy reports early cottage rental inquiries for July to September as summer tourism is expected to peak after Rockledge closure. Mrs. Arthur Stevens shopped in Bath.

Mrs Hodgdon and Bath death noted in Westport notes

Mrs W F Hodgdon arrived from Portland where she spent the winter for treatment and had also been in Biddeford. Mrs Charles Thorne died at her Bath home last Tuesday, a daughter of Captain George A and Annie Beals Jewett of Westport Junction. She leaves a husband and two children, Frank and Arline Smith. Many people heading to Bath aboard the Westport Upper Landing boat were disappointed Monday morning at the fare and schedule.
