John Gould Speaks at Joint Lions Meeting in Wiscasset
Lisbon Falls author John Gould told Bath and Wiscasset Lions that in Maine writers live a book not just write one. Gardiner’s Curtis Levil inducted new members Elmer Alexander Philip Wyman and Carl Meister as about 60 couples attended the Oxhorn Inn session. Gould, author of Farmer Takes a Wife, urged writers to store past experiences and observe life closely, noting writing is hard work and requires a detached mind. He demonstrated by reading a chapter and sharing how beginnings must grab the reader’s interest.
