St Marys defeated Winter 31 to 27 to capture the 1935 Y M C A Church Basketball league crown in the final playoff series. Joe Grindell led St Marys with five goals while Johnny Mullaney and Skip Skaling also starred. Billy Greene of Winter scored five free throws and Dick Haskell led Winter scorers.

Minstrels Draw Big Crowd At Sacred Heart Show
The Colleens Minstrels at Masonic Temple attracted a full audience Monday night. Sacred Heart circle No 551 of Daughters of Isabella produced a multi-part program with children dancers, a Toy Orchestra, and a large cast of performers led by Jack Shaw, with costumes from the Sacred Heart sewing circle and praise for all participants.

Bath to get its own liquor store by May 1
A Bath report states a Bath liquor store will open by May 1 at latest with ex Alderman Harry M. Huse, now at the Augusta store, slated as manager. A joint session of Solar and Polar Star lodges hosted seven of eight lodges in the 14th district with about 170 members and 30 visitors from 17 lodges. Six Colby college musicians from Waterville are set to celebrate a likely peak event as they anticipate a spectacular Fourth of July afloat. The Cunard White Star Lines will sponsor free passage to Europe this summer for the group known as The Colby White Mule Transatlantic Band.
