Past Ladies Club Enjoys Day With Mrs. Neilson
The Past Ladies' club of the United Order of Odd Fellows met last week in Bath. Members traveled from Bath Auburn and Waterville with 14 from Bath and eight from Waterville. A boiled dinner featured vegetables from the hostess Emma Haley’s garden and arrangements of gladioli. Mrs. Neilson hosted, with her husband a conductor on the Boston & Maine Railroad. Officers were reelected: Emma Haley Brunswick president Lucelia Blake Bath vice president and Miss Alice Brunswick secretary-treasurer. A visit to Pine Tree Kennels was planned and dogs were shown by the Neilsons.

Bath Iron Works Chief Engineer, Trowbridge, Retires After Service
During World War I and II era, Mr. Trowbridge held a technology degree from a science program and served in the Marine department of Southern Transportation Co. in Philadelphia. He became Chief Engineer at Bath Iron Works Corp in 1928 and was later a consulting engineer from 1939 until retirement in 1946. He supported USO programs and Community Center efforts and served as a King Lion of the Bath Lions Club. Local friends express loss over his decision to leave Bath.
