Arbuthnot-Holt Wedding Friday Brings Formal Tide
Miss Florence Eugenie Holt, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Arthur E. Holt of Chicago and Kennebec Point, married Rev. Charles William Arbuthnot of Pocantico Hills in a 4 pm ceremony at the Holt Summer home. Relatives and friends attended as lilacs and ferns adorned the rooms. The bridal party included Mrs. Charles T. Brewster and Miss Eugenia B. Waller as attendants, with Rev. Holmes Hartshorn as best man. The bride, a Swarthmore and Union Theological Seminary graduate, wore a gown tied to family wedding fashions. A reception and extended honeymoon followed. the couple will reside in Pocantico Hills after July 15.

A long Bath parade led by C A Warner and Battery H 240th C A C honored nine Grand Army of the Republic veterans. Soldiers reviewed on the Hotel Phoenix porch as Daughters of Union Veterans sang Battle Cry of Freedom amid cheering crowds despite afternoon showers.

Campfire Complete as GAR and Allied Orders Gather in Bath
After the parade the GAR and allied groups held their annual Campfire at Columbian Hall in Bath. Nine Civil War veterans sat at the head table as Gov. Barrows could not attend. Brig. Gen. Hanson read his greeting. Mayor Sewall gave Bath greetings. John W. Palmer received his past commander badge from George W. Benson. Commander Towle oversaw ceremonies with prayers, pledges, and readings. The event closed with Star Spangled Banner and later dancing.

Alumni Banquet Highlights A Bashful Class Night
The 48th annual Bath High School Alumni Association banquet in Morse High School gym featured George Barker elected president and Mark Hennessy as VP. Officers include Mrs. Voorhees and Mrs. Calderwood reelected secretary and treasurer. Marius Page chaired. class of 1914 president James Morse recalled the 25 year class gift of 77 toward new encyclopedias. The event drew about 600 attendees and included a lobster dinner and music. The USS Hughes destroyer launching followed, with Mrs. Hughes christening the vessel and Navy officials and spectators in attendance.
