Eliminate Blind Crossing At Bath Brunswick Road
Editor Dear Sir: At Blind Crossing the steam railroad crosses the highway at grade. A watchman costs $40 monthly, equal to interest on $12 000 at four percent. The railroad should help fund eliminating this grade crossing and still profit. A New York State Highway Commission note shows steeper hills reduce load moved by power and raises maintenance costs. a horse can pull far less on climbs. A road with steep grades is hard to maintain and damage from heavy rain is common. Very respectfully ERNDES Feb KELLY
