Two launches carried Kennebec Bay Points cottagers to a Popham Society Hall party in honor of Edward Stewart Jr. The event followed a rough voyage with engine trouble but arrived safely at 11 15 pm. Other Bath area social activities include a Tuesday club pop concert and a Riverside hotel bridge party with Over 100 August bookings.

Maine Realty seals sale of Schoppe property for Lynn colony
The George Schoppe estate on Foster Point road near the old Bull Rock bridge was sold to Ir Warren Litch of Lynn Massachusetts. Litch plans winter timbering and spring erection of bungalows for rent and sale, forming a new resort community on the riverfront. The hotel property is excluded and the house will be prepared this fall. Local residents and cottages fill the New Meadows area as preparations begin for a substantial development along the river.
