Phippsburg Residents Address Failing Roads and Local News
Phippsburg reports ongoing road damage from heavy rains with new culvert washout and blocked access. Transport routes shift as Meadowbrook and Sam Day roads see repairs, mail service resumes, and hay farming faces poor yields amid harsh conditions. Community notes include a Maine Bible Society talk, visitors from Bath and Lewiston, and plans for a family voyage to Lucca Italy.

Early 18th Century Growth at Nequasset and Montsweag Mills
In 1735 Nequasset and Montsweag areas show rapid settlement with sawmills, lodgings, farms, and growing infrastructure. Workmen, ox teams, and new timber houses emerge near Nequasset and Chopps Point as Clarke and Lake heirs expand holdings.
