Maine Senate Orders Deadlines on Private Legislation
In January 1937 the Maine Senate set tight reception deadlines for private or special bills with a rule that after February 4 1937 they require unanimous consent to be received. A second deadline applies February 11 1937 with similar unanimous consent conditions. Some bills exempt from these limits include those reported in regular business by joint committees and measures to facilitate the Eighth-Eighth Legislature. Secretary Royden V Brown notes the order dates and end of document.
