Florida tourist trade grows as Tampa spreads inland
Mr. Couture notes Tampa’s expansion with 16 cottages on the coast and a year round influx of Northern visitors in winter and summer crowds from other states. He says shallow foundations limit height, keeping city growth spread out though the port city remains a commercial hub with nearby St. Petersburg more tourist oriented. The Cou tures plan travels through Bucksport and the Gaspee peninsula before returning to Tampa by September for a seven year vacation pause. Misses Ludgarde and Hedwidge Rheaume return from Quebec nursing. Florence Rheaume visits Bath after the trip south.
