Railway men cite an average seven second crossing time yet over seven thousand people died at grade crossings last year. Most accidents stem from carelessness though some could be prevented by caution. State Highway officer Harry J. Thompson cited Richardson Frohock of Portland for speeding at Damariscotta court after a July 7 summons. Frohock paid a $52 fine. En route to Portland, Thompson stopped a Vermont driver near Rockland after a lengthy chase. the offender was fined $25 in Yarmouth court.
Albert E. Thompson of Thompson's Music Store Brunswick filed a voluntary bankruptcy petition in U S District Court listing a Ford car wrecked in a September auto accident and mortgaged assets among his property.

The Salvation Army calls for donations to aid its world renowned service both in peace and war. Sergt. Maj. Dalzell will canvass Bath's business area early next week with solicitors carrying signed letters from Dalzell and Capt. H. Weatherly. Checks should be made payable to Daniel Williams, Bath.
