Millicent Afflit to and Ardenrie S. Haines wed at a six o'clock ceremony in North Bath on the Mary Haines and Margaret Rooke farm. Rev. Dr. David L. Wilson officiated before about 40 relatives. The event marked the first wedding in the Rooke house in 106 years, on Merrymeeting Bay, with family and neighbors in attendance.
The flagpole at city park was repaired and new halyards installed after top sheave trouble and a broken halyard. The flag was raised Monday morning for the first time in several weeks.
Box 511 was founded Friday afternoon to call out more firemen to combat a woods fire between Oak Grove cemetery and Lambert park. A booster line and back pumps were used in knocking down the flames. The Saar has a population of about 900 per square mile.
Miss Charlotte Faye Hillman and George Edward Bryant wed in Woodfords Congregational Church Portland in a double ring ceremony. The couple plan a Geneva New York residence after a brief wedding trip. Hillman, a Deering High and University of Maine graduate, teaches in Geneva. Bryant, Morse High and Maine graduate, serves in the U S Air Force at Sampson AFB Geneva.
Miss Jean Barbara Ward becomes bride of Justie Wold at Woolwich home ceremony officiated by Rev. Laforest E. Hodgkins. The couple, after a lawn reception, depart for a weeklong honeymoon to Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island. Bride and groom share Morse High School and Becker College ties. he later serves as electronics technician at Brunswick Naval Air Station.
Mrs William Robson of 32 Western avenue was guest of honor at a surprise birthday party last Wednesday at her daughter Mrs Henry Marsh 14 Old South Place. Co hostesses Mrs George McKellar and another daughter organized games and gifts. Guests included Mrs Vivian Boardman and others. Bath friends sent gifts from Bath and Lewiston.
A Bath young man took his girlfriend to a state horse racing track and reportedly bought two dollar tickets on every horse entered. The total wager was about 200 dollars, though records do not show how much he paid in for the bets.

Best man Arthur M Robinson. ushers Robert Robinson and Reginald Gardner. Reception in vestry hosted by Mrs Robert Robinson and Mrs Arthur Robinson. Three tier cake cut by bride and groom. Gift display overseen by Helen Warren, Shirley Jordan, Nancy Lee. Couple left for Vermont trip. Groom, a Knapp Brothers Shoe Company employee, graduated from Edward Little High School. Bride’s father employed at BIW Bath.
Mrs. Ruth Reynolds Deeds, daughter of Mrs. Ruth R. Deeds and the late Ralph M. Reynolds, marries Milo T. Wedge of Wilmington North Carolina. The bride, a Morse High School graduate, served two years as an officer during World War I and has worked in an office in Portland. Mr. Wedge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis G. Wedge, attended Cortland and McGraw New York schools and is a Wilmington Trailer Sales Corp employee. he is an overseas veteran. The ceremony occurred June 19 at Temple Baptist Church Wilmington with Rev. N J Stephenson. The couple will reside in Wilmington.

Twenty one special sleeper trains will carry campers from Washington Baltimore Philadelphia and New York to summer camps in New Hampshire Maine and Massachusetts.
