Bath buyer recounts rare fur finds in Arrowsie woods
Ralph Lessard, a Bath buyer, states he secured a rare black rabbit skin shot by a Bath man named Southard, noting such skins are seldom seen while white rabbits fetch little value. He mentions a skunk skin selling for up to $4.50 this season. The narrative shifts to ship news about the schooner Hardwick, its grounding off Small Point, and efforts by Woodbury to refloat it amid challenging tides.
