Holt of Auburn and John Arters of Portland, retired by a six year service limit. Holt has led Augusta district ten years and Portland six. Arters has served Portland for six years.
Roland H. Smith post of the American Legion announces a big minstrel show and revue at Columbia theatre in late February after a well attended rehearsal. George Crockett will conduct with a strong cast including Maurice Brown Gene Hart Harold McLain Jim Callan Sam VPovich Ed Arsenault and Herbert Douglas. A full chorus rehearsal is set for Tuesday evening at the clubhouse.
The Sagadahoc county legislative delegation organized last week with full attendance electing Senator Frank W. Carlton as vice chairman and Representative Cowdenham as secretary. Other members include Representatives J. Edward Drake, Clarence A. Peaslee, and George A. Baker of Bath and Edwin W. Haggett of West Bath.
The annual Maine Methodist Episcopal conference meets at Green Street Church in Augusta from April 22 to 27 with Bishop Thomas Nicholson presiding and Rev. O I Olver as secretary. The event will choose two new superintendents for Portland and Augusta districts, feature national speakers, ordination on April 26, and appointment announcements on April 27. A junior conference for older boys runs April 24–27, led by Rev. Grube B. Cornish and others.
Albert Heald of Melrose Massachusetts died January 9 after being struck by an automobile on his way home from work. He suffered a fractured skull and never regained consciousness. He was a skilled piano tuner born in Arrowsic Maine, lived in Melrose 17 years, and visited Bath, Maine with brother David N. Heald. He was a member of Athol Masonic Lodge First Baptist Melrose and the Grange. He is survived by his widow three children Melville Heald Warren Ohio William Marion of Melrose one sister Mrs Milford Oliver of Wiscasset and one brother David N. Heald of Melrose.
Funeral service for John H. Troop longtime Bath V.F.A. member and Torrey Roller Bushing Works shipping clerk took place Sunday at People's church. Rev. George B. Wolstenholme led the rites. burial followed at Oak Grove. Bath V.F.A. members marched in saluting procession, with bearers named Edwards Blake, Frank H. Turner, Levi T. Thompson, Fred Wroctor, Christopher Cushing, and George Worrey.
Mark T Costellow a former Saga County commissioner and Richmond blacksmith died Sunday night at his daughter Mrs Roy Reeds home in Whitman Mass while visiting since Monday He had lived in Maine most of his life and was a well known horse shoer He is survived by his wife and two daughters Mrs Reed and Mildred Costellow a Portland schoolteacher
Dora F Lyons 52 wife of Frances W Lyons died Tuesday at City hospital after long illness. Born in Treland daughter of John Murphy she came to Bath from Cambridge Massachusetts 28 years ago. Survived by husband five sons John Thoms Edward George Henry Lyons. Funeral Thursday morning at 7 15 at St Marys.

Morse cafeteria dishes shipped from Boston over two weeks ago are still missing with a tracer sent. Spaghetti with tomato sauce was today’s hot dish. Morse girls versus Biddeford game moved from Jan 23 to Feb 27 in Biddeford, the same night the Morse boys play there.
The January all church social at Wesley Church drew a large crowd led by Mrs C E Ripley and others. The one act farce The Paper Match sparked amusement with Day and Farrar participants. A gallery of long ago church photos provided guessing fun while coffee and crackers were served. Odio Bailey, daughter of Edward and, Bailey Street residents, underwent surgery at City Hospital and is a patient.
The Peerless Jubilee Concert Company with the Kilee Singers will present a two hour program at Wesley Church next Monday night. Eight performers are in the company and church members are selling the tickets.
