Debate Over North Bath Schoolhouse Construction Date
Mrs. John G. Reed of Woolwich challenges the stated 1845 build date for the abandoned schoolhouse at North Bath. She recalls a prior district school on the site, possibly older than 1845, with her mother teaching there before 1847, and notes the current building rose in 1859 after a fire in 1856. Reed, a former town clerk, cites local builders and Bath shipyards tied to her family history.
