Winter Harbor steamboat's long Kennebec era ends in Wiscasset
The Winter Harbor built 1887 on the Kennebec River served on routes from Bar Harbor to Winter Harbor and later Boothbay Harbor to Wiscasset. Sold and renamed into transfer work, extended in 1917, the vessel ceased service in 1932 and sank at Wiscasset wharf in 1988, its remains visible at low tide.
