Leeman Highway Collision Injures Mother and Child
A noon Tuesday head on crash on Leeman Highway at the Oval Street intersection sent Stockton Springs mother Mrs. Eugene Johnson and her five year old daughter Robin to Memorial Hospital for observation. Mrs. Johnson suffered head wounds and shock. Robin had severe scalp lacerations and shock. A 1952 Willys Wagon occupied by the pair and a 1948 Chrysler Town and Country driven by a Newport resident were involved. Police investigate cause.

Maine Telephones Go Dial In Bath Area
A group of Southern Maine telephone craftsmen arrived in Bath to convert customers to dial phones. They will move to Brunswick and Harpswell in early spring as new dial buildings rise. The Bath toll center will serve Brunswick Harpswell Bowdoinham and Wiscasset exchanges, with 19 000 phones to be equipped. The effort begins December 11 1954 and involves linemen cablemen and other workers.
