Potatoes Cause A Train Wreck In Maine Tragic Scene
Passengers saw the Maine Central train final act of a potato tragedy when a car broke from the track into the Abba river. Charles Leen, a caretak er, buried under potatoes with a leg through the ice, was rescued and rushed to Brunswick in serious but not critical condition. Wrecking crews burned the car as they cleared the wreckage and potatoes lay frozen on the ice. The crash damaged the trestle but did not block traffic.
