Collectivism Is Defeat in Fight for Scientific Talent
A chemical industry spokesman argues the U S must expand scientific personnel to combat the Reds without sacrificing individual student development. He notes MCA efforts since 1951, including teacher aids, science films, and annual $1,000 college chemistry prizes, stressing local community responsibility over national control.

Davis Bill offers tax credits to farm cooperative members
Amid new farm relief plans, the Davis Bill would let cooperatives pay taxes at corporate rates and pass tax credits to patronage members. A $100 cooperative income could yield a $52 tax payment and a $48 credit to the member, usable against further tax or cash from the Treasury. Debates on price supports and crop controls loom, but the bill stands as a potential immediate benefit for former cooperative members.
