Couture presents two local salary bills in Legislature
State Representative Louis O Couture introduced two bills this week. One would raise Bath Board of Registration salaries from seven to ten dollars for the chairman and eight dollars for other members. The second bill would raise salaries for Sagadahoc county officers including the Judge and Register of Probate, Sheriff, and three County Commissioners, with several clerks also covered. Couture noted the increases reflect long service and hours, and the Bath academy transfer bill to the city neared passage after committee and House readings.
