The Y M C A Church Basketball League held its seventh meeting with plans for a February 21 game and March 3 track meet. Committees were formed for the banquet programs and hall decoration. In a large caucus Hon Harold P Small was nominated Republican candidate for mayor by a 71 vote margin 192 to 121 over Fred W Quimby.

Stanley B. Wallace of Saco formerly of Bath, a travelling feather salesman, was found dead at the highway edge near York Friday night. Authorities suspect a hit and run, though no injuries explainable as cause of death were found. A letter in a briefcase aided identification. Mrs. Wallace awaited his return as police notified her. Wallace, 42, once a diesel engineering expert and Maine Central Railroad brakeman, left seven children.
