Mrs Hannah E Williams widow of James N Williams died February 11 1910 at her son Harry C Williams home in Winnegance after an eight month illness. She was 78 years old and survived by sons Edgar and Harry C Williams with services held Sunday at 2 pm conducted by Rev J A Shaw of Bath and burial in Fairview Cemetery Winnegance.
Frank Preble suffers mumps as Curtis hall hosts a Y O P dancing class with Nellie Thomas teaching Terpischore to about 20 couples. Cotton mill and shoe factory run heavy hours with more workers. Hen houses rise as Rhode Island Red birds dominate. Mrs H Kidder recovers from surgery at Dr Peabody’s sanitarium. Norman Griffin returns from Sunshine hospital in Portland. Arthur Terrell has eye ear operation in Portland for an ear abscess.
Fred Roberts from Durham portable mill returns home over Sunday. Mrs. E. S. Cornish visits Lisbon Falls. Lawrence Schenert of Lisbon Falls spends Sunday and Monday nearby. Tibbets moves from Oakman Able farm to Durham to work at portable mill. L. A. Bird and Pearl Roberts of Lisbon Falls operate a wood and lumber business nearby. Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Denham attend a Webster funeral for a relative.
Miss Lottie Howard led a pleasant whist session with Everett Coombs organizing this week’s meeting. Mrs. John Randall and Harvey Jordan won high scores among ladies and gentlemen, while oyster stew cake and coffee were served. Mrs. Mary Purington has returned home after illness at her mother's, Agnes Ferrin's, and will stay with D. G. Purington for the winter. Charles Snow and O. T. Woodward bought new driving horses, and Annie Jordan traveled to Durham due to her sister Trufant’s illness.
The Eastern River Grange initiated H. Dinfield Mayers and Mrs. Harold Bickford, with Miss Minnie Rittal and Fred G. Alley expected to receive the first two degrees at the next meeting. Center youths attended a Cedar Grove school basket supper and dance by Bridge Academy seniors. N. F. Leeman suffers a bad collar bone sore. The Bridge Academy annual prize speaking for graduates was held Friday evening.
In Bath forty years ago Mr. C. B. Harrington was constructing a yacht with a schooner rig and a steam pleasure yacht intended for George M. Patten. The steam craft was later shipped to Greenville, rebuilt, and remains in service on Moosehead Lake.
