Grand Jury Indicts Ten in Sagadahoc Court Arraignments

The Sagadahoc county supreme court morning session focused on arraignments after a grand jury returned ten indictments. Albert Pollard pleaded guilty to breaking and entering and larceny from L. P. Eseley’s 1169 High Street store. Chester Muse and Harvey Kingsbury pleaded guilty to arson related to Canter and Middle streets and a Canter Street dwelling. Justice Dunn will sentence them. Willard Delano of Georgetown is indicted for intent to defraud in a mortgage transaction dated March 20, 1917 for 40.64 dollars.

Bath Street Stable to Open for Boarders on Bath Street

A new boarding stable named Bath Street Stable will open immediately on Bath Street for firms that kept horses at Jordan stable on Front Street. Built years ago by shipbuilder William Rogers, it features a solid foundation cement cellar and box stalls. Edward W. Sampson of the American Express Co. leads the venture with R. L. Scammon and S. M. Oliver. associated horses come from American Express, Atlantic Express, Swift & Co., and Hartleb & Chestra.
