Christmas Programs Spread Across Wiscasset Schools
A Birch Point school program led by Miss Harriet Flye featured a robust menu of carols and dramatic acts by students including Doris Caton and Edward Grant, while North school attendees under Miss Josephine Merry presented a Welcome Address and a string of seasonal readings and tableaux. The Intermediate and first and second grammar groups hosted Christmas parties, with pupils maintaining near perfect attendance and spelling records. A Woman's Club Christmas program at the club rooms highlighted choir numbers and solos, followed by a tea and social hour, and the Annual Tea for the library was scheduled for January 1 with dancing to follow. The community notes detail staff and student movements, visits, illness updates, and holiday charitable efforts, including a Christmas seal drive and various visits to relatives and neighbors across Wiscasset.
