Maine Lobster Catch Increases In October Harvest
Boothbay Harbor Dec. 11. Maine fishers report total fishery product value rising over 1939, led by lobster landings up from 1,009,000 to 1,356,000 pounds and an average three cents more per pound. Herring dropped, but groundfish rose and smelt stayed ahead. Major totals include 1,356,000 lbs lobsters and 306,415 to 376,341 in earlier totals. Canadian lobster receipts noted as absent for the first time in years.
