Fire Destroys Lewiston Tailoring Co Premises
A blaze at the Lewiston Tailoring Co in Lewiston started unexpectedly with smoke and rapid flames spreading through the center of the rooms over M S Povich’s boot and clothing shop. Firemen from Combination Four fought the flames, bringing an all out within 15 minutes. Losses were about 2000 for the tailor and 500 to 600 for the building, with insurance carried by Swett and Povich. Origin of the fire unknown though rapid flame spread may be blamed on new interior varnish and woolen stock. Meanwhile the second vesper service at Central Church was announced for tomorrow at four with Miss Carrie F Luce and other soloists leading the choir.
