Freight reports show 1 050 758 car loadings for the week ended November 14, the seventeenth million car week, with gains over last year and 1923. Growth reflects heavier car loads and broader transport by trucks and vessels, despite a weekly dip from the prior period and declines in most commodities except grain products forest products and merchandise.
The United States paid over seven billion dollars in taxes in 1924, a two percent increase from 1923 led by higher state and local levies. The report is due to the House by Monday December 14 and will cover acts of the Shipping Board at home and abroad. White says the report will be thorough and presented in a suitable manner. He has been an active House member and will prepare bills for the well as for the state.

The Winter carnival features a traditional ice polo game between North End and South End players. Local talent from both sides, including older players from Wing's pond area, will form teams as organization and tentative signups begin.

Morse High School Post Graduates announce a New Year production by the Morse Players on January 1. Adelaide Thornton coaches the clean comedy by Eugene. Proceeds go to pay the Morse Mentor debt. Tickets go on sale December 14 with an original New Year’s Ball and a live orchestra afterward.

Miss Gwendolyn Vaughan Miss Rachel Potter and Mrs Jessie Spaulding were admitted to membership at the Cosmo politan club during last week’s monthly meeting. Mrs Chester S Kingsley’s resignation was accepted. The club voted to discontinue support of a Greek orphan. Miss Margaret Adams spoke on her trip abroad and displayed postcards. Refreshments followed.
