Storm wrecks Bath area isolating city from neighbors
A severe storm left Bath without electricity and telegraph lines, isolating the city Sunday. Telephone poles and trees blocked all highways into Bath, with cars stranded and mail service limited to steamship lines. The New England Telephone Co suffered major damage as about 3000 poles felled in the area, cutting lines to Brunswick and Portland. Three motorists were stranded when poles toppled on a highway stretch between Blind Crossing and Muddy River Bridge. Continued on Page Seven.
