Herbert Bernard Stephens Jr., 3, of North Edgecomb, died Friday night at 7:45 in Bath Hospital after an appendectomy. He was brought in at four that morning and never regained consciousness. He is survived by his father Herbert S. Staples, a Mexican and World War II veteran, and his grandmother Dr. S. A. Stephens of Woolwich, with mother Marion Lord, daughter of Arthur Lord of Woolwich. Funeral services were held at his grandmother Mrs. Cora Stephens’s Woolwich home on Aug. 16 and he was buried in Greenlawn Cemetery, Wiscasset.
