Nineteenth Maine Regiment to Gather for Fortieth Reunion in Bath

The 19th Maine Regimental Association plans a reunion in Bath with a forenoon at Sedgwick Post G A R hall, a visit to Standish Field, a noon dinner, afternoon business meeting, and a Dreamland theatre performance. Veterans recall the 1862 camp and departure for Washington led by Colonel J W Spaulding, from Bath, amid somber memories of families watching trains.

Oldest Sagadahoc County Resident Reaches 101 in West Bath

Yesterday marked the 101st birthday of Mrs. Lucy Purington of West Bath the county’s oldest resident. She celebrated at her son Hiram Purington’s home with salud of gifts post cards letters and flowers. A native of West Bath she has spent her life in town and recalls old times with visitors maintaining good health and cheer.

Novel Greeting for Bob Toothaker’s New Launch

Robert Toothaker recently purchased a handsome new launch in the eastern part of the State. He headed for the Kennebec with a decorated yacht bearing Ban Cana handkerchiefs, an emblem from his friends. On the way a steamer bound for another port saw the decorations and Captain Trova Toothaker exclaimed at the sight as Bob and his guests lined the yacht’s side.

Steamer Southport Strikes Shore in Dense Fog

In heavy fog the Bath and Boothbay Harbor steamer Southport struck a rocky shore near Southport Island while en route from Pemaquid Harbor to Bath. No injuries reported as engines reversed, passengers disembarked, and the vessel was beached at Boothbay for temporary repairs after a forefoot was ripped. Captain N. W. Brewer led the voyage.

Auto collision harms Boston visitor and driver in Towallis

Mrs John Brins of Boston visiting at Mrs Milton Brin's home was a passenger when the automobile driven by BLOW Confort collided just past Lovers' Retreat in Towallis. The crash occurred after supper as Confort turned toward the White Mountains. several passengers were injured and taken home.
