Great Midsummer Carnival Parade Opens Week of Festivities
The city kicked off carnival week with heavy scarlet circus carts and busy crowds. A two mile parade on North Lincoln streets featured National Guard bands, Red Men floats, camp booths, and Isle of the Journeys with Miss Susan Ballon and Switzer the St Bernard drawing cheers. The Thursday show sold out with H A Huse directing horses and Mayor Larrabee as ringmaster, delivering a grand display of acts from aerialists to jugglers.
