Helene Yacht Launched by Bath Iron Works for Sorensen
The 143 foot all steel yacht Helene was launched Saturday afternoon at Bath Iron Works for Charles E. Sorensen vice president of Henry Ford plant Detroit. The event featured Mrs Sorensen christening the vessel with a ginger ale bottle and a bouquet of roses. The craft is the 22nd to enter Kennebec waters since 1929 with 11 more under construction including four private yachts and seven Coast Guard patrol boats.

Unidentified Man Leaps to Death From Bath Bridge
A man about 50 fell or leaped from the Bath approach to the bridge just before three on Saturday afternoon. He hung from a girder about 40 feet below when seen by Charles W. Leavitt and Er nest Smith. Rescue efforts and examination by Dr. Harry F. Morin followed. no papers identified the victim, clothing carried a Maiden Mass cap. The body was taken to Arthur F. Mayo funeral residence for further examination.

Levi Poor, a prisoner at the House of Correction, disappeared Thursday afternoon after serving 350 days of a 90 day sentence. Authorities believe he left town. a similar escape by another inmate occurred about a year ago in Portland. Most prisoners serve light offenses and are confined at night.
