Miss Marie Christine Merrill daughter of Mr and Mrs Jason A Merrill of 204 Washington street married Ensign Philip Byars Wysor USN at the Corpus Christi Naval Chapel Texas last Wednesday. The bride wore a heavenly blue wool crepe ensemble with a blue veil and pink rosebud trim. The groom, a Colby College graduate class of 42, had just received his ensign rating. The price per copy will rise to five cents due to newsprint shortages and higher production costs. A fire of undetermined origin destroyed the Mallet schoolhouse in Topsham. Brunswick firefighters could not save the 100 plus year old structure, owned by the Douglas brothers.
