City Council Protests New England Toll Changes
The Bath Brunswick City Council urged the Maine Public Utilities Commission to oppose New England Telephone and Telegraph Co. plans to end toll charges in the Bath Brunswick area and raise overall rates. The council also commended Bath Fire Department driver William C. Dutton for locating and reviving the body of Thomas P. Fortier at Whiskeay Pond after a drowning incident.

Smoky the talking bear visits three Bath schools

Frink Resigns From Morse High Faculty in Bath
A. Robert Frink, popular Morse High School coach and faculty member since 1950, resigns effective at year’s end to take a job at Belmont High School in Massachusetts. He will handle physical education, some coaching, and work with handicapped pupils. Frink, a Bath resident, served in World War II and later played a key role in Morse football, including a 1952 state title run. He will also serve as recreation director and golf pro at Sebasco Lodge, reporting to Zermont High on Sept 1.
