Rail Way Extension Planned To Texas Yard
City Council approved a 5500 appropriation to repair Front and Commercial streets to receive new railroad ties and rails for a spur from the Maine Central line to the Sewall yard and Texas Co shipyard. The plan routes the track from Commercial Street to Front Street past properties toward Blaisdell & Sons boat shop.

90th Birthday of Maine Justice of the Peace John L. Berry
John L. Berry of Georgetown celebrated his 90th birthday marking him as Maine’s oldest JP and town elder. A lifelong ship carpenter and Free Will Baptist, Berry served in most town offices, including a five year stint on the Board of Selectmen and as a juror in 1853 Sagadahoc County. His family includes son Horace P. Berry of Watertown and sister Nancy Combs of Bowdoinham.

Bath Gun Club Forms New Membership Drive
The Bath Gun Club held its first meeting at the YMCA Chamber room with 12 members present. Rodney E Ross chaired and Merton O Webber served as secretary. members received four blank certificates to recruit friends for membership. A three person committee was named to draft by laws and a new automatic trap was authorized for the Woolwich field. The next meeting is set for Monday evening April 10 at the same venue.
