Berry Dickey purchased the property now occupied by him for 1300 dollars on Wednesday. Joe Schork also reportedly bought the same property. Merton Chance from Indianapolis gave the first campaign speech at St. Clair's hall, presenting Republican viewpoints in clear, intelligent terms though poor weather kept a smaller crowd than hoped.

Geo A Cook of Batesville and Geo Holtel Geo Schwegel and Henry Koepfle of Oldenburg traveled to Louisville Saturday to celebrate Father Davids silver jubilee. Father David, once resident of Oldenburg, was well known there and in Batesville.
Burton and Comingore well borers will start drilling toward Trenton rock around Monday. It is expected to take about ten days to strike gas if present. A second well will begin as soon as the first is completed, regardless of gas presence.

Edward Schmidt has purchased the Weigel bakery in Batesville and plans to supply bread to the hungry. He is also about to wed a former Batesville resident described as Sunman’s fairest maiden.
A. M. Ake of Wood Indiana writes that years of lung hemorrhages ended after taking Foley's Honey and Tar. He tried several doctors with no relief before using the remedy and now his lungs are sound. He recommends it for advanced lung trouble. Sold by G. A. Baas.
The Greensburg Reds edged the Stars 5 to 0 in Greensburg last Thursday, earning a split of the series as Batesville left nine innings with a 4 3 tie. The Reds won with a three-run first inning before stifling defense and timely hits by Greensburg and strong pitching from Minor and Minor.
