Sunman residents report trips to Cincinnati for family visits and business. Reuben Powell’s family rushed to meet his France bound son after an unexpected departure. A severe wind storm damaged farms, mill roofs, and the K of P building, with homes rocked and trees toppled.
Frank Fishmer and family visited with Roland Robinson on Sunday. Oscar Stewart spent Sunday with Harry Eberg and family. Will Sherman of Dayton Kentucky spent Saturday and Sunday with his family at R Robinsons. John Hoff demonstrated a marine tractor on the streets last week. Sunday visits fill the community calendar as Louisa Robinson assists her aunt Josie Sherman and Varryberg's family gathers with Mrs Haessige and daughter Wilma. Several residents travel to Indianapolis while Ed Bonfier is visited by Harry Eberg and Mrs Christ Robinson learns from her son Ed in France.
SHARPS CORNER Herman Brinkman and Clyde Teagarden and wife of Indianapolis were guests of Henry Wittkamper and wife last week. John Pohlar and wife transacted business at Batesville Friday. Ben Bultman and wife spent Wednesday evening with Adam Baas and Henry Wittkamper. Tarvin Sunday afternoon August Richter called on Frank Wipple near Penntown one day last week. John Sieg and family of near Spades spent Sunday with Adam Baas and family.
Alfred Dieckman and wife from Batesville moved in with his mother Mrs William Dieckman to assist Ed Dieckman on the farm. Porto and wife visited Rol lin Hoyer and family Sunday. Guests of John Wisman and family Thursday evening included Diedrich Kops Henry Kops John Kops and Henry Peetz. Joseph Pfeiffer has rheumatism. Diedrich Kops left for Indianapolis after weeks at home. Mrs Henry Klostermeyer visited daughter Mrs Emil Kessens. Verna is ill. Sanol eczema remedy advertised with 50 cent trial bottle at the drug store.
Grim Reaper visits Quirin Walloe after severe illness dying Saturday at 3 30 pm. Burial follows Requiem high mass by Rev L Weishaar at St Marys cemetery with large funeral attendance. He leaves wife eight children and many relatives. A separate note mourns infant Virgil Walloe nine months old who died after brief illness. Card of Thanks from the family extends thanks to Rev Weishaar pallbearers donors doctors and undertakers. A weekend storm caused barn damage including F Direckmans and John Hildebrands barns with trees down and doors blown off, while local residents assisted and corn shredders prepare to finish.
