The Tribunes note patrons who pay arrears and renew in advance brighten publishing. They recount past cash-flow struggles caused by slow payments and explain now the Post Office imposes extra postage on long-delayed accounts. Overall, they praise the improving, better paid subscriber list.
Mrs. A. B. Wycoff spoke to the Shakespeare Club about goals and leadership. The Sophomores and Juniors’ program impressed with large attendance and high quality. Seniors and Freshmen will stage the next program on March 7, and a committee was named. The basketball team missed a Brookville game due to bad roads, planning a future match.
Last Thursday Reuben Ierer playing with schoolchildren at the public school fell and broke a bone in his forearm just above the wrist. Friday morning George Wernke at the Catholic school grounds collided with a boy and broke a bone in his right leg above the ankle. Boys carried him home for treatment.

Geneva defeated Katesville by 11 to 2 in a brisk contest noted for speed and passing. Geneva’s five year cohesion and quick ball movement outmatched Batesville, whose goal throwing needs work. Prenvelmeier returned in the second half, altering the flow but not enough to overcome Geneva’s lead.
George Schumacher and wife entertained the K C Girls last Thursday in masquerade. The guests arrived in unique costumes, the program featured vocal and instrumental selections and recitations, followed by a two course luncheon. Guests departed at a seasonable hour highly pleased with hospitality.
St Mark’s Church announces a Lenten service in English this Thursday at 7 o’clock with all invited. Ladies’ society members are asked to attend a Sunday meeting at the church at 2 p m. Also notes visiting Kent house for sale by ALC Foerster.

He is treated by local health officials and later departs with help from Trustee Vonderheide before a nearby station incident prompts rescue by Joe Kurtz and others. The E M E Church schedules revival services starting Sunday night March 9 with a prayer focus the prior week. The second quarterly conference is planned for March 2 and 3 at New Pennington with Dist Supt George Murphy preaching. Communion and a business session follow with attendance notes and several conversions and additions reported.
J J Greggory and wife Charles Srefect and Harry Wernke traveled to Greensburg Tuesday to attend a replevin suit for about $1000 worth of furs. Greggory alleges the furs were stolen from his business last week and were later sold to a Greensburg fur dealer by a man from near Oldenburg. Wycoff appeared as attorney for Greggory.
Thirty five friends gathered at the Steinkamps on Sunday to celebrate Miss Sparks birthday with games and music. A dainty lunch followed, and guests departed after an enjoyable evening wishing many returns of the occasion.
The Batesville Auction Sales Co announces its inaugural auction to be held at the corner of George and Vine Streets next Saturday. Officials promise a big event and invite the public to attend the opening sale to see what items will be offered.

The letter from Mlizabethtown, Kentucky, sent Saturday morning mail to Duas EE Tetrick with a cashier's check for 518 24 as a share of a legacy. The funds came from Greenberry Lovelace's sister, with four grandchildren eligible, Tetrick receiving 318 24 after his mother’s death. He, recently ailing and unemployed, welcomed the unexpected inheritance.
The family expresses sincere gratitude to neighbors and friends for sympathy and assistance during the sickness and death of their mother and grandmother Mrs. Victorine Friart. They thank Revs Girvit and Angelus and the pallbearers for their kind conduct at the funeral and pray God blesses all who helped. Signed Anthony Schhantz and family.

Palm Sunday services follow March 1 at 10 a.m. A reunion of Communicants is planned for that evening at 7:50. Sugar sale noted at A C Poerster’s Dept Store offering 25 lbs for 100 with weapons.
