A long list of daily notices from Batesville includes visits to Cincinnati and Indianapolis by residents, new store lines at Meyers, fresh fish at Benz’s meat market and Meyers restaurant, hardware wagon recommendations, and local family events. Several obituaries and personal trips are noted, along with spring cement material orders and homeseekers’ excursions via the Big Four route. A baby girl born to Herman Kaiser and wife is reported, plus a health update on Henry Miller after a bad fall.
The children of Charles Specht express gratitude to friends and neighbors for support during his illness and after his death.
Mrs John Veege aged 61 died Wednesday at her home southwest of Adams church. The remains were interred at Adams Church after services at her residence at 1 30 pm and again at the church led by Rev Steding of Huntersville.
Last Saturday Fred Baas injured his left hand at Greemann Bros. factory while frizzing drawer bottoms at the frizzer. The ends of three fingers were cut the first finger escaped major injury the second finger nail was cut through and flesh end cut the third finger end was cut slightly. Dr. Martin dressed the wounds and they are recovering.
On Saturday morning February 18 1905 at her Ballstown area home Mrs. Adam Showers aged 73 died. Rev Wilbur H McDowell of the M E church conducted the services. Attendees from a distance included Mr and Mrs Westmeyer Mrs Meyer Andy Peetz of Indianapolis Miss Ella Showers Rockville Pred H Krieger and wife Waldron Adam Peetz Wm Krieger and Mrs George Hoyer all of the vicinity.

Dead letters notice for several names if uncalled for by Feb 28.
Mrs. H. H. Krome travels to Cincinnati after the death of her father John H A Embshoff who died on Monday. Mr. Krome and son Henry departed for the city to attend the funeral today.
Stereoptican views from the play Ben Hur will be shown at St Clair's Opera House on Friday evening March 3 under the Young Ladies Society of St Ludwig's church. A descriptive lecture accompanies the scenes. Admission prices are 10 20 and 30 cents.
A Batesville citizen argues for establishing a Carnegie public library to raise moral culture and intellectual opportunity. The piece rejects claims that factory workers lack time or appreciation for such a library, urging support to lift the town’s future and provide educational leisure for all residents, especially youth.

William Wisman fought off a large mad dog at his North Walnut residence using a broom and then killed it with a gun after the animal mauled the door and threatened the household. The dog’s ownership or origin was unknown and several dogs were reported bitten in town. Residents urged vigilance for roaming animals.
The W C T U met at E R Adams home on February 21 marking its first Batesville anniversary. Mrs Louis Annewehr gave a talk on past and upcoming work while Miss Frances E Willard was honored with a life sketch by Mrs O L Newman.
Indianapolis traveler Edwin N. Niswenger of the Lackawanna and Cincinnati’s William Gannaway of the Burlington visited town to discuss business while Union Pacific agent Lyon Liston arrived. One fare plus 25 cents to Washington and return via Big Four for Roosevelt inauguration. sale dates March 1 2 and 3 return by March 8 with ten day extension upon ticket deposit and $1 fee.
